In the last decade and a half, cricket has grown exponentially in India. Whether it is due to the meteoric rise of the Indian Premier League or the local cricket leagues coming together, that still remains a moot. When we talk about these leagues, one crucial factor that defines it all is the hunger to grow.
Talking about growth, with a vision to build a strong platform for Indian cricket, Gujarat is coming up with its very own league, called the “Cricket Premier League“. With the objective of unfurling hidden talents, exposing them to the international community and eventually highlighting the sporting arcades of Gujarat, CPL is all set to unfurl under the hallowed aegis of the Chiripal Group.
The league will be taking center stage over a period of 15 days where six teams will be locked in a ferocious battle at the SGVP Grounds in Ahmedabad. With a bandwidth of 120-plus Ranji players all set to be blended into the aforementioned six sides which will also have a handful of young guns who are just learning the ropes, expect this fray to be an absolute swashbuckler.
Apart from the cricketing numbers, CPL’s other objectives include regularly interacting with the fans and also guarantee a massive prize pool which can be handed over to the participants for the future development of the players and the infrastructure.
CPL is all set to rock and roll, signposting Gujarat’s vibrant culture, its incredible cricketing prodigies and a frenetic cricket-loving fanbase.
